JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting.  This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.  This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.   This position will have contact with senior level executives and will report into the Chief Financial Officer and requires strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department including accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
  • Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Responds to inquiries from the CFO and other firm wide managers/executives regarding financial results and special reporting requests
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
  • Assist the CFO with special projects

 

Job Skills & Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
  • Knowledge of account analysis reconciliations, cash forecasting, and fixed asset activity
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • Strong problem solving, documentation and research skills, basic accounting principles knowledge
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to communicate effectively-verbally and in writing

Title: Purchasing Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for documenting and evaluating supplier’s proposals, generating quotations for the Sales Team, and processing purchase orders to suppliers. Additional responsibilities include data validation, process compliance, and reporting key information to Upper Management. This position interacts with all groups within the company, and as such strong interpersonal skills are needed. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, strong in mathematics, be a team player, have a strong focus in managing repetitive tasks, and have the ability to multi-task.  They will strive to minimize expenses and increase company profitability, and recommend changes to the acquisitions processes as needed.

 

Essential Functions

  • Processing Quotations:

Receive quote request from the sales team.

Verify item is approved for quoting.

Request price bids from WWP suppliers.

Validate costs.

Calculate shipping, duties, import and export fee’s associated with the quotation.

Generate customer sales quotation by following company pricing guidelines.

Record and file all associated documentation backup.

  • Processing Orders:

Audit incoming sales order requests to insure all required documentation is included.

Verify the accuracy of all documentation and ensure all necessary approvals are in place.

Communicate any discrepancies with the Sales and Customer Service Teams.

Validate customer purchase order pricing.

Validate supplier pricing.

Input both customer and supplier orders into AS400 ERP system with a high level of detail including: customer and supplier pricing, item specifications (BOM), packaging specifications, quality requirements, production approvals, shipping marks, and shipping schedules.

Review orders processed by other team members.

Send authorized purchase orders to supplier and file hard copies in purchase order binders.

  • Account Management: Respond to all day to day inquiries from the Sales, Customer Service, Traffic, Engineering, and Management Team in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure all individuals are adhering to purchasing policy and/or company policy.
  • Maintain vendor relationships.
  • Maintain and validate supplier pricing lists when applicable.
  • Negotiate pricing for independent projects and/or global items.
  • Meet with Management to discuss pricing strategies.
  • Create customer pricing lists as directed by the Sales Team and/or Management.
  • Reporting and analysis as directed by Management.
  • Participate in projects as directed by Management.
